What is the IA Builder?
The IA Builder is an advanced intuitive information architecture tool that allows you to design, build, and maintain a dynamic site structure. It facilitates the construction of the site and definition of the page layouts and templates.

What is Publish Port?
Publish Port is a content management software application that allows organizations to improve and accelerate their web publishing initiatives. It provides processes for the way web content is contributed, classified, and approved on your site, processes for publishing workflow, from content creation to ongoing user maintenance and support, and a detailed management and reporting system for both contributors and users.

Publish Port is applicable to anyone in your organization who contributes to your website Publish Port supports the needs of a growing publishing organization by providing for multiple contributors or editors. It makes your website more readable and easier to use by providing clear structures for your contributors and editors, reducing errors and the cost of training.

Once the product is installed, how can I access it?
If you can surf the Web, you can use Arconics' products! You can access the login screen by opening your browser and typing in the URL. Then you will enter your username and password. The IA Builder is divided into five tools, while Publish Port is divided into four tools:

Depending on your access rights and your role, you will see one or more of these tools when you log in to the application.

What are the products' browser requirements?
Both applications are accessible via Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher only.

How many documents can Publish Port handle?
Publish Port supports up to 100,000 content items on the site. Our next release will be scaled to handle even more content.

Can you upload non-HTML documents such as Word, PDF, Excel, etc.?
Yes, you can attach any file type to a piece of content using either the Content Contributor or the Content Editor tools.

Can you create HTML pages and upload them to the site as an attachment?
Yes, you can attach HTML pages using either the Content Contributor or the Content Editor tools, as you can with any document, but we would recommend cutting and pasting the HTML into the text box instead. This way the text displays in the webpage instead of as an attachment.
Remember, however, that you can also create great looking webpages without any knowledge of HTML.

Does Publish Port allow non-technical users to make changes to their sections of the website?
The Webpage Publisher allows non-technical users to keep their section of the website dynamic and up to date. They can directly change pages and highlight and prioritize the newest and most important content, quickly and easily. The user simply navigates to the page they wish to update and selects the block they want to change. They make their changes and instantly publish their new content directly to the site.

What training and documentation is provided with the products?
The applications incorporate a comprehensive online Help facility. A User Guide is also available. An online tutorial will be available soon.

How many users can Publish Port facilitate?
Publish Port will facilitate up to 100 contributors and up to 50 editors. In fact there is no theoretical limit to the number of users that can be facilitated by Publish Port, but our performance testing used a profile of 100 contributors and 50 editors. The next release of the application will be scaled to handle even more.

How does Publish Port handle security?
The Registration Manager and User Manager tools in Publish Port allow the system administrator or manager to grant the appropriate access level to each user. When a user logs in they will see the tools relevant to their access level.

Can you use Publish Port to publish to multiple sites?
Publish Port allows you to maintain one database of information. The website generated from this database is based on the classification system and therefore is a single site. Multiple sites can be achieved by using re-directs to different sections of this site.
