You can use the Administration tools in Publish Port to manage both the system users (contributor, editor, managing editors) and the external readers that register on your site. It also allows you to export content to other sites and individuals.
The following tools are available:
User manager
Individual users of Publish Port are assigned access to the various functions within the system based on the group they belong to. The User Manager allows you to manage these groups, and thereby control user access. You can create, modify, and delete groups and users, as well as assign functions to the groups.
Features
- Control access to the tools in Publish Port and IA Builder
- Control the console menu of options displayed to each user.
- Allows the maintenance of administration users, editors, contributors, registration managers, etc.
- Allows the maintenance of Editors and Editor Groups
- Allows the specification of authors and areas of expertise
- Maintains user personal details, i.e. usernames, and passwords, etc.
Registration manager
The Registration Manager allows you to manage and communicate with registered readers. As a registration manager, you can approve or reject readers who apply for membership, delete rejected readers from the database, and send a mailshot to the registered readers for whom you have responsibility.
Features
- Allows a user workspace for managing the applications for access to privileged information on the website
- Facilitates registration forms for two different types of viewers
- Personalizes the information shown for the user logged in
- Allows reallocation to other users for review
- Allows the user to manage the registration/application details

- Provides 3-day and 6-day warnings if an application has not been processed
- Allows mail shots to registered users
- Allows for the management of users' workloads and re-allocation of content to other users by a central manager
Report Viewer
The Report Viewer enables you view reports about documents (contributed, edited, and read) in the system, as well as any exports you perform. (Note that although this is the default, the system can be set up to automatically generate reports on any information in the database). These reports are automatically generated (providing you have Crystal Reports software installed).
Features
- Automatically generates reports on system activity
- Configurable retention periods for reports
