Rationale

Arconics Learning is aimed at professionals, managers, and other writers. It offers simple, proven, and efficient methods for tailoring or modifying your published output—from memos and intranet notes to company reports, to longer papers and studies—for maximum impact and efficiency on the Web.

The courses are designed for busy professionals. Each can be completed in as little as an hour, and is broken into a series of short segments. Learners proceed at their own pace in an interactive, no-nonsense environment. Arconics Learning is entirely web-based and quick to download, so it can be accessed from any location.

Background

When we build a course, our Course Development team works closely with industry experts who have proven records in teaching people useful skills. The experts write the courses, working with our team of instructional designers and web developers to perfect the courses for delivery over the web. Each course is presented in easy-to-understand segments that provide you with the background and skills you'll need

Registration

When you run a Arconics e-learning course from the Arconics website, you will be asked to enter registration details before viewing the courses. You can enter a Arconics course using a username supplied by your training administrator. You will also be asked to type a password. The Arconics system will be able to track your progress from this username and password.

Course structure

Courses are broken into lessons that organize a portion of the class content according to a particular topic or skill. Lessons are broken into sections. The first section introduces the course and its objectives. The concluding section asks you to complete a test to evaluate the skills you have learned.

Interactivity
Within courses, you'll have the opportunity to practice what you've learned. Every lesson uses a combination of interactive elements—exercises, assignments, and tests—that

· allow you to explore new ideas
· allow you to reinforce what you've learned
· show you, if necessary, what you should review

Exercises

Exercises in the "do's and don'ts" section of each lesson are to encourage you to stop and think, not to test your knowledge of the course content. No record is kept of your answers to questions in the course, nor are you scored in any way on your performance except when you choose to take the assignments and tests.

Assignments

You are guided through relevant real-world examples and asked to apply what you have learned so far. Feedback is given automatically, and you are awarded a score at the end of the assignment.
