XML Data Specialist

We have a vacancy for an XML content specialist. Ideally he/she will have a publishing or content management background and be familiar with processing xml programmatically using a range of tools, though JAVA skills would be an advantage.

The role involves processing and supporting the processing of complex XML and occasionally SGML documents, to an agreed data model.

We require an individual with a confident can do attitude, competent with making and implementing design decisions. This position will not be suitable for individuals with or seeking a web-development role and requires at least two years XML development experience.

Key Technical Skills

• XML – DTD, Schema and related standards.
• XSL/XSLT
• Good knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, Web Standards, AJAX
• JAVA, and ideally eclipse IDE
• Experience or exposure to Apache and Tomcat
• Knowledge or experience of pipeline processing would be a distinct advantage.
  

Personal Skills

• Organised and self motivated
• Strong Time management skills: able to prioritise and work well under pressure.
• Good communication skills both oral and written, with an ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to work alone, demonstrating resourcefulness in problem solving
• Knowledge or exposure to the aviation industry would be a plus
