Fight Operations

Arconics Flight Ops Edition consists of a complete set of management and delivery tools to catalogue, structure and organise information. Using advanced XML technology, it provides for integrated management and audit control of paper, electronic and cockpit-based information.

Rather than having to cope with cumbersome, slow, and expensive paper distribution of notices, bulletins, memos, manuals, and other documents, Arconics Flight Operations enables managers distribute essential information via the web to specific staff  (individuals and/or groups) irrespective of their location or hub, or if they are accessing from home or from the office, or on board the aircraft through an electronic flight bag.

Information in Arconics is processed once, on upload to Arconics' patented management system, which then distils and collates it to provide customized views to meet each staff member's knowledge requirements. Arconics creates and maintains a complete audit trail of any changes and it tracks the distribution and receipt of information throughout the airline.

Arconics Flight Operations puts airline managers in control of crew documentation, deciding who can access documents and making some items a mandatory read. On receipt of the information, individual staff members must indicate they have read and understood the information. A non-repudiable log is maintained to provide audit trail.

Staff may use the system to provide reports on any operational issues that arise in the course of a flight assignment, and to share up-to-the-minute news from head office or from the regions and airports visited by crew.

Arconics Flight Ops also provides a robust centralised distribution system which enables information to be distributed via multiple distribution channels, ensuring contingency systems are in place in the event that content is required in locations where communications are limited.
The system reduces the costs of document printing and distribution and increases the speed of operational processes. But, most important of all, it enables relevant information to be shared across the company, quickly and efficiently

A range of interfaces are provided which enable most airline operations requirements to be met out-of-the-box; however the system can be customised to meet specific needs. Workflows are provided to handle events (such as the arrival of a new manual or asset) to ensure tasks are processed in a complete, consistent and compliant manner.

Key benefits

  • Provides a common central communication channel that is designed specifically to support the needs of airlines' flight operations organisations.
  • Precisely distils, collates, classifies and customizes information views to build a valuable corporate knowledge asset
  • Manages multi-fleet, multi-manufacturer, multi-format manuals in a single integrated environment
  • Managed exports to standalone devices such as the electronic flight bag (EFB)
  • Allows EFB content to be managed cost-effectively and rigorously
  • Extracts information from existing third party systems such as roster systems, flight requests, flight swaps and holiday booking
  • Puts airline managers in control of crew documentation, deciding who can access documents and making some items a mandatory read. A non-repudiable log is maintained to provide audit trail.
  • Reduces training and mentoring costs through improved delivery of operations knowledge targeted at staff development
  • Facilitates compliance with airline authority documentation regulations
  • Substantially reduces fixed overheads by publishing manuals, forms and notices electronically
  • Reduces the need for technical publishing staff and for pilot-managers to spend time on commercially unproductive work
  • Avoids the investment trap of ad-hoc systems developed in-house that cost much more to run and maintain than they appear to save
  • Combines patented Arconics technology with industry standards: ATA iSpec 2200, XML, SGML and Java
  • Quality, customer-focused support through the product life-cycle and offers a defined upgrade path
Accelerated return on investment due to ease-of-use and rapid deployment.
